The Soul of Travel Magazine TRAVEL JOURNALISM WITH SOUL *** Spring & Summer 2008
SERENADE by Marcia L. Hannewald Sweet sanctuary on the water’s edge You call to me Remind me of my heart’s true home Your lapping waves a siren song Seducing softly as I sleep Adrift in dreams of bygone days When free to laugh and run and play I lay my handprint on the earth
Beneath a canopy of swaying palms I feel your freshness on my skin Awakened to the mystery Of who I am now meant to be The truth has been there all along
How did you lure the right souls in To lift us up and light the way? One thousand synchronicities can’t be denied This student’s ready My teacher has appeared Our great blue-green amazing world Mere putty in her practiced arms Its majesty revealed in splendid Technicolor bursts
Like cubs behind a mama bear We follow, wide-eyed, to her lead Scrambling, with beginner’s mind To write, to contemplate, to breathe The present moment blankets us
In perfect, silent harmony. |
